LASER:
WHAT IS LASER ?

     Laser is a high energy light which serves many purposes in medicine but is recently used to get rid of undesired hair. The word LASER is the acronym of Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser beam is absorbed by the melanin pigment which gives the dark color to our skin and hair and the hemoglobin protein in blood. After the beam is absorbed by the dark colored hair, it creates a high heat effect at the hair root, and assures that the hair is burned. For this reason, laser treatment is much more successful in dark colored and thick hair. Those people whose hair color is darker than their skin color can obtain results in a shorter period and with minimum side effects. In laser hair removal application, dose is adjusted according to the person’s skin type (Fitzpatrick classification based on skin color) and color of hair. Thereby doses which shall affect the hair root, but not create side effects on the skin are used to achieve the result as soon as possible.
